ARCHITECTURAL AND INTERIORS PHOTOGRAPHY RATES
DAY RATE, ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY: $1,100. 50% deposit upon start.
MEDIA: Major shots can be taken on 4x5” negative, if requested, for best quality architectural coverage. Normally, all shots will be on 35mm film, with scans, plus original digital. Neither film nor digital originals is consistently superior. Client normally receives digital disc with high-resolution files both from film and digital originals.
IMAGE OWNERSHIP:
An increasing number of firms are now making electronic fact-sheets and other promotions with photos, taking original prints or slides as source material. There is no problem with that use, once the shoot is paid for. However, product-advertising use or third-party publication may require an additional charge.
AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY: $550. Includes air-time, photography, proofs, and CD.
TRAVEL: Mileage and road-expenses, telephone, couriers, etc are additional
Ideally, architectural photography is a collaboration between the architects or planners and the photographer. A copy of the site-plan and, usually, the first-floor plan, are great tools for marking up the architects' hopes, or essentials, for shots. The photographer will try to fill those needs, but not hesitate to take near-shots that show the same space, but may improve it. Editing can be done after the shoot with all the images "on the table."
